YAY!!! We did it!!! We officially made it through school and our summer is HERE!!!!! :) But before we get to the last day of school, we gotta talk about some fun activities that led up to the last day!!!
Maddix got to visit his future preschool, Busy Bee Academy, that he will be starting at in August!!! I am so excited for him to start school here!! I absolutely LOVE this school and I LOVE the teachers and I am so excited for this smarty parts to learn so much...and to get to play and socialize with others!! Oh, and the 3 hours (2 days a week) that I am going to get to myself is just the cherry on top!!! :)
He had a blast at the visit! It was fun to have sissy there to "show him around"!! This is the same school Zoey went to, so she was excited to show him the ropes!! Things went so well for the 1st 30 minutes or so....and then he threw a book that hit another kid in the eye....and during story time, when all the kids were sitting quietly on the rug, he pretty much body slammed another kid!! So sad!! :( It will seriously be a miracle if he doesn't get kicked out!! We've got 3 months to work on our manners!!! I am DETERMINED to get this boy in school when August rolls around!!!
He seriously got right to work and fit right in with the other kids!!
Another funny story about Maddix at school.....when we were leaving (right after he threw the book & body slammed a kid), Ms. Brooke knelt down and said, "Maddix, I need you to be a big boy and go potty and poopy in the toilet so that you can come to Busy Bee, ok??" Maddix said, "Otay"! We left, got home, took his diaper off and we started potty training!!!! Every time he went potty on the toilet, we would pull up Ms. Brooke's picture on Facebook, I would "pretend" call her and she would be so excited and we would do the potty dance and it was great!!! Well.....here we are almost 3 weeks later and I am happy to say that I think it did the trick!!! He is doing SO GREAT and the last few days, he has just been going into the bathroom on his own to go potty and I couldn't be HAPPIER!!! WAY TO GO MADDIX!!!!!! :)
Ok, back to school activities!! Zoey had her end of the year Luau and I signed up to help at the beginning of the year! It was a HOT day, but the kids had a blast!!!
Zoey and one of her classmates, all decked out in their hula gear!! :)
Limbo....
Sack race....
Lunch time....
Photo op time!! Me and my cute, little Hawaiian girl!!! :)
We got invited to Ayden's award assembly....I always love coming to school things like these and seeing the kids in their element....so fun!!
Ayden got an AR (Accelerated Reader) award.....a reading award for reaching his goal every month for the whole year!!
So proud of him and the GREAT reader that he has become this year!!!! :) His prize....a discount pass to LEGOLAND!!!!!
Kinder Graduation was on Tuesday......
I know there are some people that think Kinder, 6th grade, and 8th grade Graduations are a waste of time!!! Not me tho....I am a total fan!!! There is absolutely NOTHING cuter than seeing 90 Kindergarteners in their "graduation" caps!!! So fun!!!! :)
Zoey received an award for being an "Advanced Reader"....there were only 6 or 7 kids out of the entire Kinder group of 3 classes that received the award!! So proud of that girl and the GREAT reader that she is!!!! :)
Zoey getting her Promotion Certificate from the BEST teacher ever!!!
The girls all did a curtsey when their name was called and they walked across the stage!!! HA! Cutest thing EVER!!!! :)
Like always, keeping this boy quiet and entertained was a challenge.....
After all the awards were given and certificates were passed out, all the Kinder kids sang a couple songs!!
I love this picture and how proudly he is looking up at his big sis!! :)
We are all so proud of our Gracie Girl!!!
We were glad to have Grandma Brenda there representing the Grandparents since my parents were on an airplane coming home from Chicago during graduation!!
Zoey and one of her best friends, Bailey....such cute girls!! I can't wait to take a picture just like this when they graduate from High School!!! :)
What a cute and fancy Kinder certificate!! Love it!!
We love Mrs. Sanchez so much and are going to miss her dearly!!! She is one of those teachers that you just wish you could stick in your pocket and take with you from year to year!!! I am definitely already looking forward to Maddix getting her in 3 years!!! :)
Big events, like the last day of school, always make me get so nostalgic and want to look back to the past! It was so fun to see all the 1st day of school pics we have of the kids so far.....
Ayden, 1st day of preschool.....
1st day of the 2nd year of preschool....
1st day of the 3rd year of preschool.....
Ooops....pause....we made a mistake.....take 2....1st day of Kinder (starting a month late and a month after that 3rd year of preschool pic above)....
Zoey 1st day of preschool.....
1st day of 2nd year of preschool....
1st day of Kinder & 2nd grade....
I loved comparing the 1st day and the last day this year!!! They grew up so much!! Both of them!!! They lost the baby fat, grew taller, lost some teeth and gained some teeth.....so fun!!!
Last day of school.....holding a picture of them from the 1st day of school....
Last day of 2nd grade....
Last day of Kinder....
On the last day of school, we went to pick up the kids and instead of taking the stroller or driving, I decided to give Maddix some freedom and let him walk!!! This kid NEVER EVER EVER holds my hand when we are walking....but he was so excited to have some freedom, that he held me hand while we walked to school!!! :)
And then halfway there, the lazy bum stopped and kept telling me, "Tome ear Mommy....it down"!! HA!
After school, we went to our neighbor friend's house for a swim party!! It was a hot day and a GREAT way to start the summer!!!! Maddix loved the hose getting him wet!! HA!
The kids kept going back and forth between the pool and the spa.....they crammed in like sardines into the spa....
On Saturday, we surprised Ayden and Zoey with a fancy day date with Mom & Dad!!! About 6 months ago, I got tickets to the play, "The Stinky Cheese Man" and when I noticed the date of it, I realized it would be a great "start of summer" celebration!! So we first took Maddix to drop him off at Grandma Brenda's house......this is 3 signs that your kids wake up too early....it's 10:30 am and 2 of the 3 are conked out....the 3rd is about to follow suit!!!! :-/
Quick family pic before we go....
They didn't really even know where we were going....
1st stop.....a fancy lunch at Maggiano's.....
We thought they would be impressed with a fancy lunch, but as soon as we sat down, Ayden said, "I thought we were going to do something fun.....why are we here?!?" Argh!!! That is when we realized we should've just driven through at McDonald's!!!!
Time for "The Stinky Cheese Man"!!! I think Jeremiah was the most excited out of all of us!!! He remembers reading this book as a kid, so he was super excited!!
It really was a cute play and a fun day with the big kids!! We were worried about Maddix since he was so sad when we all ditched him.....but we got back to Grandma's house to get him and he was happy as a clam riding bikes with his buddy Gunner!! :) So cute these 2 boys are.....same age, both adopted, both love bikes because they both have Daddy's that are obsessed with bikes!! So fun!! I wish Gunner lived in our neighborhood!! HA!!
Well, we officially start our 1st week of summer on Monday!!! I'm super excited to not have to set clothes out, not have to pack lunches the night before, not have to drop kids off and pick them up all day, and not have to do homework!!!! Now if only I could get these kids to sleep in a little bit, our summer would be perfect!!! I may or may not have told them all that I will pay them $1 for every time they sleep until 7 am!!!! Ayden laughed and said, "Ha.....guess I'll never get a dollar this summer"!!! Oh boy.....here we go!!!!
