Almost a month ago, we celebrated Jeremiah's big THIRTY FIRST birthday!! Gosh, we are getting so old! The kids and I had a fun day at home while Daddy had to work on his birthday...we were busy making a cake and making a homemade birthday card!! We surprised him by picking him up at the train station and taking him to his favorite Mexican Restaurant!! I can't really say that we had a relaxing dinner (is that possible with two kids), but at least Jeremiah enjoyed his dinner!!

Of course Ayden's favorite part about ANYBODY'S birthday is singing and helping them blow out their candles!!

For Ayden's birthday, he got a bug box and a bug vacuum from his Uncle Branden. He has been obsessed with it ever since! Luckily he has a Daddy that will do this kind of thing because Mommy is out of the question when it comes to creepy, crawly things!

Even Zoe is into the creepy, crawly things!

"Look Dad, I SEE A BUG!!!!" Jeremiah looks like he is about to kill somebody in this picture, but really, he is just going to catch a bug (which has become his newest hobby)!

So one day, Jeremiah decided to take Ayden to the golf course by our house....they both took their golf clubs, both took their bikes and they were off for a good time!
Yes, Ayden is in there SOMEWHERE! I guess he pooped out on the way home and Jeremiah had to pull him in the trailer, along with the clubs and his big attached!!

Little did I know that they were going to come him with a new addition to our family!! Yes, they brought this little guy home.....

This is Bob! They caught him at the golf course and brought him home in an empty raisin box. I thought they were just going to show me what they caught and let him go, but not the case! Bob has been with us for almost a month now and I think he is here to stay!! He lives in Ayden's bug box and Ayden checks on him at least 100 times a day! And the first thing that happens when Jeremiah gets home from work is they go outside with their bug vacuum to catch spiders and flies for Bob to eat!! As long as I don't have to do anything with this jumpy thing, I am fine! =) When they first got him, we asked Ayden what his name should be. Ayden said, "How about Cooper (his cousin)?" Then he decided he would rather name him Bob instead of Cooper....so Bob it is!!

Ayden is keeping an eye on Bob in this bucket while Daddy cleans out his home!

Nice, clean home....

So that is Bob...our new pet....and I can't believe that I just put that many pictures of a Toad on my blog!!
On the nigh of our Anniversary, Jeremiah surprised me with a date night to one of my most favorite Italian Restaurants Maggiano's! He got off work early, lined up having his mom watching the kids, and we were off!! It was seriously the BEST date that we have had probably since we were newleyweds!! Either that or we just really NEEDED a date night! We decided we definitely needed to go out more often!

A couple weekends ago, Jeremiah rode his bike down to the beach and the kids and I met him there. We went to Huntington and it was SO crowded!! I forgot that going to the beach on a Saturday is not the best idea...we have gotten spoiled with my parents living right ON the beach and not having to worry about parking or crowds when we go during the week! Anyway, it was SUPER crowded, but we had a TON of fun! This was the first time this summer that Daddy has gone to the beach with us, so Ayden was excited to take him in the water! And Zoe went crazy in the water! She LOVED it! The water was so warm. She would sit there and wait for the waves to come up on her. She even got knocked over a couple times, went underwater and still wanted to do it again!!
These two pictures just show how disgustingly crowded it was!! People were literally on top of us.....

A rare moment....they were playing nice!!

Zoe stealing Ayden's chair when he wasn't looking...

Zoe loves to see how much sand she can get on her face, in her mouth, in her hair, in her diaper, etc!! Sure makes for a fun bath when we get home!!

Ayden was excited to have Daddy around to help him build sandcastles!

Here is a picture of Ayden and his little BROTHER!!!!

Just kidding!! That is just our Zoe girl! And she loves to wear her big brother's undies!! I need to get her some princess ones, but I can't ever find the smallest size at Target! But one day after baths, she came downstairs looking like this!! She got these Diego undies on all by herself!! Silly girl! She thought she was so funny!

Hammin' it up for the camera!!

We have been spending a LOT of time at the pool lately because it has been so hot!! Ayden has really taken to Jeremiah teaching him and he's getting much more comfortable in the water! He now loves to hold his breath and go underwater, do BIG kicks and he can even swim about 2 feet to the edge of the pool!

This video isn't the best because Ayden is whining in most of it, but it shows him swimming at the beginning to the step and half way through the video, I love how he told Jeremiah, "NO! You take a big breath!!" when Jeremiah was trying to get him to swim to him and telling him to take a big breath before he went underwater!
We decided since he was doing so good that maybe he should do swim lessons! I know it is the end of summer, but this was kind of an after thought to give us something to do each day for 2 weeks! Today was our last lesson! He didn't really learn how to swim, but he at least had fun....most of the time!! We did have to leave one lesson early because he was kicking, screaming and crying!! Guess it was just a bad day because he did great the rest of the week!
Ayden is SO not a fan of floating on his back!! He looks like he is being drowned here!!

After the first couple lessons, Ayden kept complaining that he didn't have any goggles like his buddy Max! So Grammy bought him some and he did so much better!! He was going under like crazy and diving for rings by the end of the two weeks!!

I love this picture....Ayden looks like such a little nerd....he's so cute!!
Here we are at the finish line on the day of the race! Just waiting "patiently" for our Daddy to come....

Not sure where the kids got this idea, but they both picked a flower to give to their Daddy when he came across the finish line! They both sat there for so long holding onto their flower!

Daddy.....WHERE ARE YOU???

Zoe thought that every biker that went by was her Daddy!! She was waving and saying "hi" to everyone!

They see him coming from afar!!

Waiting with Grandma and Grandpa....

And.......here he comes!!!!!

Woohoo!! He finished!!

And the kids bombarded him....while he was ready to collapse!!

Zoe was funny....she was ALL OVER him...she didn't mind the sweat dripping on her at all!! Now that is LOVE!!! =)

130 miles, 7 hours of riding and 8,000 calories burned.....he was all tuckered out!! I would be too....not sure how he finds fun in that....I'm just glad it's not me!!

Ayden helping Daddy drink water after the race!

In addition to all of that, we had Ayden's 3 year check-up last week and he is 35 pounds (85th percentile) and 39 inches (85th percentile)! Still a big boy...we thought for sure by now his height would slow down!! Hopefully he will just be a super tall boy!! He checked out good and had to get one shot....which he was so brave for!!
Zoe has mastered many new things....the two that I am most proud of (not really) are that she says MINE and NO as clear as day!! She knows what they mean, uses them in the right context and she uses them ALL day!! She is becoming quite entertaining....and stubborn!!!
I am excited that I can feel fall approaching....especially since we don't have to worry about winter and snow being right behind it!! Hopefully I won't wait another month to do a blog update!!
