{a WeEk oF fUn}

Jeremiah's brother, Branden, was here from Utah with his girlfriend and her 4 year old daughter, Natalia, last week. It was so nice to be at Jeremiah's parents house and FINALLY have a kid there on that side of the family other than ours!! Little Natalia is the best of both worlds for our kids......a girl for Zoe and a 4 year old for Ayden.....PERFECT!!! The 3 of them hit it off right away and had a blast playing ALL day and ALL night! I can say this because I know that neither of them will read my blog, but I am SO hoping they get married......how perfect to have an INSTANT cousin on that side of the family that is same age as our kids!! :)

Best buddies....just hours after meeting each other for the first time!!

Dancing....and playing ring around the rosy!!

On Saturday we went to Sea World with them. It was both mine and Jeremiah's first time since we were kids....we all had such a fun time! The kids were so great all day long and loved watching all the shows! They loved the Pet Show, which was so so cute, but Shamu by far was the very favorite....Ayden wanted to sit in the "Splash Zone" really bad!! So he and Jeremiah went to sit in the 1st row! Zoe and I sat up top with everyone else....but when Zoe realized that her brother and Daddy were missing, she wanted to go with them! Bad idea.....she got SOAKED and didn't think that was as fun as Ayden thought!

I couldn't believe we stayed late enough to watch the fireworks....we thought the kids would poop out for sure long before that!

The boys with the kiddos.....such a cute picture!! :)

Last week was Jeremiah's birthday! The kids and I went to his work to take him to lunch.....the kids always have a blast visiting Daddy's work! We went to Jeremiah's parents house for dinner and his mom brewed up his "special request" for a "gourmet" dinner. Hmmmm....I am taking that as a hint that Jeremiah didn't love what we had the 3 nights before.....broccoli quiche, beef stew, and leftovers!!! LOL!! Ok, I don't blame him! So his request for his birthday dinner was beef wellington, wild rice and broccolini.....and creme brule for dessert! It was delicious!!

Somebody enjoyed their Creme Brule....... :)

It was present time and Ayden was lucky enough to get a present too! This was his birthday present from Jeremiah's parents......a couple weeks after his birthday because they were waiting for the perfect bike to be built! Ayden of course had help from the girls when it came to opening....

At it was.........a new green (his favorite color of course) race bike!! Jeremiah wants to get my little 4 year old into BMX racing, so this was the first step! Oh brother....can we please order a full on body pad for him now!?!?!?

He took off right away.....he is still a little too small on the bike since most kids riding this bike are at least 6 years old! He needs a little help getting on and getting started, but then he is fearless!!

Ayden and Natalia riding their bikes in front of Grandpa & Grandma's house....

Zoe looking cute and being the cheerleader on the side of the road....

Now it was Daddy's turn to open his birthday present......

Surprise Surprise......ANOTHER bike!!! This is a biking family and most birthday and Christmas gifts revolve around bikes in one way or another!! Jeremiah used to tease me about how many strollers I had in the garage, but now that I have sold most of our baby stuff, I can point the finger back at him about the 7 bikes we have in OUR garage!!! Oh my!!

Natalia playing in the wrapping paper.....

The girls started picking flowers.....

And then somebody suggested having a wedding!! So here is Ayden marrying Natalia....they are walking down the aisle here....and I guess Zoe is the flower girl that also gets to be on the groom's arm! Notice the little bouqet's the girls are carrying!! Ayden and Natalia kept calling each other "Honey" and "Wife/Husband" after this!! So funny!!

On another night that they were visiting, Jeremiah's mom got tickets to the Pirate Show that is like Medeival Times, but with pirates!
The whole gang......

Our 3 pirates......Ayden was so excited to wear his pirate hat and bring all his new pirate gear that he got for his birthday from his birthmom!! Thanks Crystal!! :)

Our pirate girl.....

Jeremiah got picked to go up on stage for the preshow while we were waiting to go in for the real show! He was a little LESS than enthusiastic about having to be up there!! We were all laughing!! Ayden & Zoe loved to see their Daddy up on stage!!

We got some crappy pictures during the show because we couldn't use flash photography!

At the end of the show, all the kids got to go backstage and get dressed up like soldiers! They got to come out and be a part of the show by shooting the captain to save the princess!! Ayden LOVED this and it was right up his alley!! He said it was HIS bullet that shot the soldier and he was the one to save the princess!!

On another day, Jeremiah's mom took Ayden with the rest of the group to Universal Studios. Ayden and Natalia had such a fun time!! This was such a touristy week for us.....doing all these things that we wouldn't normally do if "out of towners" weren't visiting!!

After a long week of fun with Natalia, it was time to say goodbye!! These two were so cute when they said goodbye to each other!! Luckily we are headed to Utah in a couple days and these two "Honey's" will be reunited!! :)

{bEaT the hEaT}

Ok enough of this 105 degree weather we have been having! June gloom was annoying too, but this is just gross!! We have been looking for ways to beat the heat, so yesterday we went down to see Grammy Con at the beach. It was a beautiful 80 degree beach day and it felt so much nicer than the 105 we left behind! We took the kids to the beach for a while. If that wasn't good enough, we had a tasty lunch at Cafe Rio!! So excited....they are popping up all over the place and now we don't need to go to Utah to get our fix! Then we went to the pool to wash off the gobs and gobs of sand that was lingering in every crevace of Ayden and Zoe's body!

What a BEAUTIFUL view.....Manhattan Beach might be my new favorite beach!!

After our fun day in the sun, Grammy had a nail appointment and invited Zoe to come and get her fingers and toes painted! She was so excited! She sat there so still while she got (surprise surprise)........PINK!!!!

It sure is exhausting being a pampered little princess!! This was Zoe about 3 minutes after her mani/pedi!!

It was a perfect day that we had....and definitely a great way to stay cool! We decided it felt so good that we headed to Big Bear for the weekend cuz it was supposed to be a scorcher here! This time it was just our little family there at the cabin since my parents were out of town. It was a fun little mini vacation.....and so relaxing! I love going to the cabin....something about being there just makes me tired!! I got to sleep in until 8 am (which never happens) and on Saturday, I even layed down with Zoe and took a nap (which REALLY never happens)......then Saturday night, Jeremiah and I were in bed by 9:45 pm (which REALLY REALLY never happens)! Ahhh....I am tired just thinking about it! :)
On Saturday we had a fun day out on the boat.....the kids LOVE everything about being out on the boat....the LOVE to go fast and they LOVE to just sit and hang out....jumping in the water for a swim when they get too hot!

SUPER fast!! Zoe loved going fast.....it was so funny to see her hair blowing in the wind!!

Daddy and Ayden getting ready to jump in.....

ONE......

TWO.....

THREE......

SPLASH!!!!

And Ayden's face when he came up for air.........BRRRRRRR!!!!!

Zoe has to apply chapstick every 5 minutes while in the boat......

And finally.....we talked her into getting into the water.....

Daddy....AKA our Jungle Safari tour guide.....we like to make fun of Jeremiah's hats....this is the jungle safari tour guide hat and we call him JUMANJI!! :)

Jumping again.......

SUPERMAN!!!!!

Daddy swam far away over to the rocks....we were all a little nervous....especially after the drowning we saw a couple weeks ago there!! Good thing our Daddy is a good swimmer and made it back safely!!

After a fun day out on the boat, we went to the Alpine Water Slides......we have never been before, but thought we would try it out! Ayden was so excited.....we weren't sure how he would do, but we let him go all by himself to the top.....

.......and he made it down with a BIG, HUGE smile on his face!

This was one happy kid......and he was so sad when it was time to go and all his turns were used up! Next time, we will get the all day pass!!

I love having a little girl! I think she has the cutest clothes and I kind of live vicariously through her when I get her dressed each morning!! I would love a cute little outfit like this for me....but it's ok, I will just enjoy seeing her wear cute clothes!!

Jeremiah signed up for mountain bike race up in Big Bear this weekend! He is crazy fast.....this picture shows it all! Talk about INTENSE!!! I don't know how he does it....a couple weeks ago when we were in Big Bear, he took me for a mountain bike ride and it was HARD!! He does that kind of thing and hardly has to breathe hard! This was a picture that the photographer at the race got of him.....we had to buy it!

After the race, we hung out in the back of the van eating tacos!! I love having a van....I mean a "Swagger Wagon"!!!

Jeremiah took this picture of me and the kids and when I saw it, I had to do a double take to see who I was holding in my arms!!! I CANNOT believe how BIG Zoe looks here!! Seriously, she is getting so tall and so big....right before my eyes!! It looks like I am holding a 4 or 5 year old!

And oh.....I forgot to mention.....Jeremiah got 1st place in his category of men age 30-34. WOOHOO!! Way to go!! And he beat the 2nd place guy by 5 minutes!! We were so proud of him and can't wait til his next race!!

Ayden was so proud of his bike racing Daddy and wore his 1st place medal around all day long!
