Gosh, seems like Christmas was SO LONG ago!!! We have had 3 weeks off of school (Jeremiah got 2 weeks off of work) for winter break and I think this is the very first time that I have NOT been ready for the kids to go back to school!! I am all about routine, but it has been SO NICE to go to bed super late every night, to sleep in til whenever I want to, to roll out of bed and put my robe on and go downstairs to see what the kids have been entertaining themselves with until I woke up (usually Minecraft), then just do whatever the heck we want to do all day long!! Ahhh, it has been pleasant to say the least! The funny thing is that the kids are still getting up as early as ever, so we have been putting them to bed right at 7:00 pm or a little before every night....which makes for a nice long and quiet evening!! :) Boohoo for school to start again on Monday!!! Boohoo!!!! 20 more weeks of school until summer, but who's counting?!?! :)
We had a morning of exercise....Jer took all the kids for a bike ride (Maddix included) while I got my run in! We tried some of Zoey's bike shorts on Maddix and couldn't believe how funny and cute he looked!! :)
Seriously, this kid is SUPER obsessed with his bike and would ride it all day long if someone was outside to watch him! Actually, let's be honest.....he would ride it all day long whether someone was out there or not.....he would ride it all day if he could just reach the garage door opener!!! HA!! Won't be long I am sure!! :)
Oh and he is wearing Ayden's very first bike jersey that he wore when he was maybe 3 or 4....so cute!! :)
Zoey in her bike jersey and matching sparkly skirt....with bike shorts underneath of course!!! And this is Maddix's "SAY CHEESE" face!! LOL! :)
The cutest little bike riders ever.....MY cute bike riders!!! :)
They went to the school and rode around all over the empty parking lot.....
Bike racin' with Daddy....
He can hardly see under his helmet.....and he still wears a diaper.....but he can ride a bike without training wheels!!! :)
I'm pretty sure I will never get sick of her toothless smile!!! :)
A little video to show what a little stud muffin Maddix is on his bike.....love it when it first starts and he goes over the speed bump and says "SPEED BUMP"!! HAHA!!
It's a new year at church and we are LOVING our early start time!! So nice to be done with church at noon and have the rest of the day to do nothing!!! All the 3 yr olds got to leave nursery and go out of nursery.....Maddix is still there, but he came out of nursery wearing this cute little headband that said, "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam"!! :) So cute!!
Nothing cuter than a 2 year old in a tie!!! :)
Too bad that this video has my lovely singing on it, but if you could ignore that, it's the cutest thing to hear this little cutie singing, "I am a Child of God"!! :)
HAHA....Maddix loves when I do laundry! He loves to lay on top of the dryer and throw all his blankies in and watch them go round and round!! Here he is saying "there's my blankie"!!!
For New Years Eve, we made our traditional homemade pizzas and stayed at home! It was a great and relaxing night!!!
Jer changed all the clocks in the house so that midnight would really strike at 7:00 pm!!! It was the most genius idea we have ever thought of!! We have never really let the kids stay up til midnight....but it was fun to let them THINK they stayed up til midnight!!! We brought up the ball dropping from last year and we were able to do the countdown and bring in the new year as a family.....at 7 pm!!! HAHA!!
On New Years day, we went to the beach. We live so close to the beach and literally NEVER go! I hate the crowds there in the summer, I hate finding a parking spot, and I hate having dirty, sandy kids!! Sooooo.......we rarely go, which is sad! And I do take for granted how close we live....so it was nice to go in the winter, even though it felt like summer, and not have to deal with crowds and parking issues!!
The kids were SO HAPPY!!!!
Maddix was a little terrified of the water, which we decided was a good thing, so he clung to either me or Jeremiah for dear life for a while!! :)
This was the scared face he made the entire time as the waves would crash up on the shore....
HAHAHA....I gotta admit, it was kinda refreshing to see this boy that usually has no fear, be a little bit scared of something!! :)
Seriously, what a beautiful day!!!!
Clinging to Daddy....
Searching for sand crabs....didn't even find one!!!!
These pics just make me laugh!! He tried to be brave and go close to the water....and then it came close to him and he ran for his life!!!
And then Maddix got a little too brave and REALLY wanted to go in the water, so he was way down there....and a big wave was coming, so Jeremiah ran to lift him out, but the wave crashed.....and Jeremiah's jeans and brand new shoes were soaked and sandy......and that's when he said, "Ok LET'S GO"!!! LOL!
So we headed out and went to Ruby's on the pier for shakes!! Best family day we've had in a long time!! :)
We went to my parents house in La Quinta to visit cuz my Grandma Emmy and Auntie Grace were visiting....seriously, love these cute older ladies and love to visit with them! It's so funny....the kids have a hard time telling these sisters apart....there was one time where Ayden looked Auntie Grace straight in the face and asked her, "Where's Auntie Grace"!! HA! :)
Zoey got to show off her reading skills....and they were very impressed!!
I didn't get my camera out at all until we were leaving and I wanted to get some pics of the kids with their Great Grandma Emmy....
....and their Great Auntie Grace....
One of me and my cutie pie 86 year old, lookin' good, Grandma Emmy!! :)
Oh yeah, and we did get to take the kids to the pool cuz the weather was so nice.....and Maddix decided to "ride the turtle" in Grammy & Grandpa's front yard! :)
And here we are, on our last day of vacation......I am sure going to miss sleeping in and letting the kids watch movies all day!!!
